FIELDS THROW SAND ABOVE BLUE

FIELDS IS A LARGE, COTTON THROW BASED ON COLOUR, PROPORTIONS AND SIMPLE SHAPES. 200 × 240 CM, SIX COLOUR OPTIONS AND ONE TASK: TO TRANSFORM THE INTERIOR WITHOUT CHANGING EVERYTHING IN IT.

FIELDS is a large, thick throw woven on a handloom. The thick, dense plain weave gives it a distinctive texture, weight and a refined, textile-like character. The pattern is not printed onto the surface – it is created by interlacing threads and woven from coloured cotton yarn.

The large size of 200 × 240 cm means it can be used to cover a bed or a sofa. But FIELDS wasn’t created just to disappear into a room. It should be visible.

PAINTING STARTS WITH COLOUR. WE STARTED WITH THREAD.

The FIELDS collection was inspired by Mark Rothko’s paintings and his vast swathes of colour. Rothko was exceptionally skilled at establishing relationships between fields of colour. No objects, characters or direct storytelling. All it took was the colour, scale and proportions – which still mesmerise us to this day.

At FIELDS, we were drawn to that same simplicity of thought. Instead of canvas, we have fabric; instead of paint, we have coloured yarn. We divided the large areas of colour into distinct bands and arranged them into simple, graphic compositions. We are not attempting to transfer Rothko’s paintings onto fabric. We are interested in his idea that colour alone may be enough.

SAND ABOVE BLUE

SAND ABOVE BLUE it is a composition made up of large areas of sandy beige and blue. The warm, natural shade of sand contrasts with the cool, fresh blue, evoking images of a seaside landscape where the sand meets the sea. Razem tworzą harmonijne zestawienie, w którym spokój naturalnych kolorów łączy się z wyrazistą, geometryczną kompozycją.

Sometimes just two colours are enough to bring back memories of summer. Even when it’s a completely different season outside.

FIELDS is available in six designs: ORANGE BETWEEN BLUE, BLUE BETWEEN SAND, GRAPHITE BETWEEN PINK and SAND ABOVE BLUE, SAND ABOVE PINK, SAND ABOVE GREEN.
